The /IOTCONNECT Amazon Sidewalk Solution reduces this complexity by providing standardized assets (device templates, dashboard templates, decoders, and example-specific documentation) aligned with manufacturer Sidewalk SDK examples across supported board and radio configurations. This enables faster prototyping and validation through documented onboarding flows and ready-to-use integrations.
As customers move toward production, the /IOTCONNECT team can integrate the official Amazon Sidewalk manufacturing flow directly into the customer's AWS environment, bridging the gap between development and commercial deployment while maintaining continuity in device models, data decoding, and platform integration.

Solution Overview:
Key Capabilities
- Guided onboarding for Sidewalk-enabled devices into /IOTCONNECT
- No cellular hardware or data plans required for connectivity
- Extended range coverage leveraging existing Amazon bridge devices
- Low-power operation supporting multi-year battery life for edge sensors
- Built-in quickstart demo for rapid connectivity validation

Configuration 1: Low Power using Bluetooth LE only with OTA
NUCLEO WBA55CG + X‑NUCLEO‑IKS5A1
The STM32WBA is based on an Arm® Cortex® M33 running at 100MHz with TrustZone® technology; it supports Bluetooth® Low Energy 5.4 with security assets required to ensure Amazon Sidewalk security criteria. This configuration uses a BLE only Sidewalk setup that reads an on board X NUCLEO IKS5A1 MEMS expansion shield from a NUCLEO WBA55CG and ships the readings to /IOTCONNECT over Amazon Sidewalk Link Type 1 (BLE).
