Capacitors
Used to store energy electrostatically in an electric field, capacitors can be used to block certain currents while allowing other types of current to pass. Examples of capacitance usage include smoothing output of power supplies and stabilizing voltage and power flow in an electronic circuit. Capacitors have applications in energy storage, pulsed power, power conditioning, suppression and coupling, motor control, signal processing, sensing and oscillators.
