L7805CD2T-TR is an L78 series three-terminal positive voltage regulator IC. It is useful for wide range of applications. This regulator provides local on-card regulation, eliminating distribution problems associated with single-point regulation. Each type includes internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe area protection, making it essentially indestructible. With adequate heat sinking, it can deliver over 1A of output current. While primarily designed as a fixed voltage regulator, this device can also be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltages and currents.
