PCF8551BTT/AY

PCF8551BTT/AY is an ultra-low-power LCD segment driver with 4 backplane- and 36 segment driver outputs, with an SPI-bus (PCF8551B) interface. It comprises an internal oscillator, bias generation, instruction decoding, and display controller. Applications include metering equipment, consumer healthcare devices, battery-operated devices, and measuring equipment.

• Internal LCD bias generation with buffers, auto-incrementing display data and instruction loading
• Versatile blinking modes, independent supplies of VLCD and VDD
• 1.8V to 5.5V for VLCD, 1.8V to 5.5V for VDD (power supply ranges)
• Ultra low-power consumption, 5MHz SPI-bus interface
• Internally generated or externally supplied clock signal
• Supply current is 0.6µA typical at (VDD = 3.3V; Tamb = 25°C)
• LCD supply current is 3.2µA typical at (VLCD = 5.5V; Tamb = 85°C; BOOST = 0; no display load)
• Output resistance is 1.5Kohm typical at (VLCD = 5V)
• Internal clock frequency is 1024Hz typical at (fr = 64Hz, nMUX = 4, VDD = 1.8V to 5.5V)
