Smart Mirrors based on SiTime Solution
This reference design serves as an alternative to traditional automotive mirrors by enabling a smart mirror solution. While system architectures may vary, all smart mirrors share key building blocks an image sensor (imager), a system-on-chip (SoC) for video processing, and, optionally, an LCD display. Reliable interfaces are required to transmit and receive video data between the mirror and other system components. A key feature of smart mirrors is the ability to switch between video sources dynamically, for example, transitioning from a rear-view camera during normal driving to a close-up backup camera while parking. This functionality enhances driver awareness and safety, though it adds some complexity to the overall system design.
