Automotive Camera based on SiTime Solution
Automotive camera modules require compact, robust components that can withstand extreme temperatures, shock, vibration, and EMI. As sensor resolutions increase, so do data rates, demanding low-jitter, high-reliability clock sources. This design supports MEMS-based oscillators, such as those from SiTime. These oscillators offer small size, --55 C to +125 C operation, low jitter, and high resilience to harsh conditions. These characteristics help meet functional safety requirements and improve overall system reliability. Cameras integrate imagers and serializers, transmitting data to ADAS ECUs via MIPI A-PHY (Valens), FPD-Link (TI), or GMSL (Analog Devices). All key elements require precise clocking, and this design provides flexibility to accommodate components from various vendors.
