Hybrid solar inverters combine solar panels with a battery. They are relied on by many to deliver uninterrupted power. This demonstration, based on STM32Trust TEE Secure Manager on the STM32H5 discovery kit, shows how to effectively secure hybrid solar inverters in a cloud-enabled application.
/IOTCONNECT is used to monitor and control the power output of the inverter remotely, providing real-time data reporting and facilitating secure firmware OTA updates.
By integrating /IOTCONNECT, the solution demonstrates how to deliver a service that is fortified against unauthorized access. OEMs can build on this demonstrator to deliver safe, reliable and efficient energy systems, pivotal to sustainable infrastructures though building and maintaining public confidence and trust.

SPARK – Smart Parking AI-Driven RZBoard featuring Renesas’ RZ DRP-AI accelerator

Using the Avnet RZBoard V2L, a custom CNN (convolutional neural network) model and /IOTCONNECT, Avnet Embedded engineers have created a demonstration that shows how simply smart image sensing can be added to public spaces to help drivers find somewhere to park in a smart city.
This real-time parking demonstration uses a live camera feed to identify occupied and free parking slots. Through /IOTCONNECT, that information can be relayed in real-time to drivers as they enter the city’s limits.
/IOTCONNECT provides the scalable backend for device management and data handling. The seamless integration with AWS and Azure makes the AI-driven insights available in real-time to the wider infrastructure.

See a dynamic people counter in action, using 40 networked sensors distributed around the exhibition halls 3 and 3A.
This demonstration is using /IOTCONNECT as the central hub, aggregating data from the sensors. It shows the distribution of visitors, plus environmental data captured by the sensors, including CO2 levels, temperature, and humidity – all in real time.
