Reaching further together

Body 1 - Reaching Further Together

The idea of community goes far beyond the cities and neighborhoods in which we operate. We think of a community as any group of people who share a desire to make a positive difference, wherever and whenever they can. Avnet’s philanthropic mission is to promote a culture of community service through sharing best practices and ideas that encourage employee volunteerism and charitable giving.

Understanding the power of working together, we partner with suppliers, customers and vendors to maximize our impact in the community. For example, Avnet recently partnered with Benchmark Electronics on a bike build project for foster kids. Like Avnet, Benchmark believes in the power of giving back. Both companies purchased bicycles and then had teams compete to see how fast they could put them together. Afterwards the bicycles were donated to a local foster kids’ program.

Avnet Cares

Avnet’s employee volunteer and charitable giving program, Avnet Cares, is one of our most successful corporate social responsibility programs, operating in more than 20 countries to support a broad range of nonprofit organizations.

Avnet’s employees are keen about making a positive impact in their communities, and they drive our giving strategy. Their passions are our passions. It’s how we reach further together. And how we tailor a global commitment and culture of hands-on volunteerism to meet the needs of local communities from the Americas and Europe to Asia.

In the America’s Avnet matches employee volunteer hours with a donation to qualifying nonprofits. This is another way Avnet enhances and supports employees’ volunteer efforts.

“One of my favorite things about working for Avnet is how supportive they are of employees volunteering. The company supports our passions and doubles our impact in the community by matching our volunteer hours or how much money we’ve raised.” – Avnet employee in Phoenix, Arizona

Avnet cares

“Avnet believes our responsibility to our employees, industry and global community extends beyond achieving business and financial goals. We are proud of our long history of community involvement both through financial giving and hands-on volunteerism. By sponsoring initiatives important to our employees and advocating for the communities in which we do business, Avnet and its employees continue to make an impact around the world.”

— Jessica Daughetee, Avnet Chief Marketing Officer and overseer of Avnet’s CSR program.

Avnet employees, friends and family at our corporate headquarters location in Arizona have been volunteering for the HandsOn Greater Phoenix’s Serve-A-Thon for more than 25 years. Every year this group volunteers on a Saturday morning in April to clean classrooms, paint murals, construct tables and plant flowers for a local school.

Charitable giving requests

Because Avnet’s community support activities are proactively initiated by our employees, we do not encourage unsolicited proposals. If you have any questions, please send an email to Avnet Cares.
