The Murata Power Solutions MRMS166R is an ultra-low-power AMR magnetic sensor designed for contactless ON/OFF switching in compact, battery-powered electronics. With typical average current consumption of just 20 nA at 1.5 V and a 1.2 V to 3.6 V supply range, the sensor helps reduce standby power and supports operation from low-voltage power sources.
The MRMS166R uses solid-state magnetic sensing to provide dependable switching without a mechanical contact. Its negative-logic output changes in response to magnetic field intensity, while an integrated intermittent-drive circuit helps minimize average power consumption. The device also provides an ELP latch-control input, which can hold the OUT pin at a high-level output regardless of the applied magnetic field when the specified HIGH voltage is applied.
Designed for integration into space-constrained electronics, the MRMS166R operates from −10°C to +60°C and is specified for consumer equipment, industrial equipment, GHTF Class A and B medical equipment, and certain security equipment where the function is not directly related to protecting human life or property. Murata recommends evaluating the sensor in the final product with the intended magnet, temperature conditions, mounting tolerances, and surrounding magnetic environment.
