PSOC™ Edge is designed for next generation responsive compute and control applications, featuring hardware-assisted machine learning (ML) acceleration. This new family of MCUs deliver next-level end-user experiences by enabling end products to be more intelligent and intuitively usable, thereby lowering the barrier in human-machine interaction and adding contextual awareness to end applications, all while providing robust privacy and safety protection through embedded Edge Protect technologies. PSOC™ Edge E8x

The PSOC™ Edge devices are based on high performance Arm® Cortex®-M55, including Helium™ DSP support paired with Arm® Ethos™-U55 and Cortex-M33 paired Infineon’s ultra-low power NNLite neural network accelerator. Lead devices are built in ultra-low power 22-nm embedded-RRAM technology. Support for “always-on” sensing and response makes the devices ideal for advanced IoT devices such as smart home, security, wearables, robotics, and many more. The family of devices features extended on-chip memories to support the most advanced applications. PSOC™ Edge consists of dozens of devices that provide scalability for increasingly sophisticated next-generation intelligent systems, while enabling software reuse and portability.

Infineon PSOC™ Edge MCU

The enhanced intelligence of the PSOC™ Edge series adds support for advanced graphics, audio- and vision-based applications to the extensive set of human interface modes (touch, graphics, voice) available in earlier generation PSOC™ devices. The new series includes four product platforms PSOC™ Edge E81, E82, E83 and E84 enabling easy migration of applications within the family, as well as an upgrade path for earlier generation designs.

The PSOC Edge E8x devices are supported by Infineon’s ecosystem of Edge AI software, including the DEEPCRAFT™ AI Suite.

PSOC™ Edge has multiple development kits and will have a production SOM Module based on the PSOC™ Edge E84 microcontroller. These PSOC™ Edge kits are supported by ModusToolbox™ and DEEPCRAFT™ AI Suite and development tools, along with support in the Zephyr® ecosystem.

The PSOC™ Edge Evaluation Kit enables applications to use the PSOC™ Edge E84 Series Microcontroller (MCU) together with multiple on-board multimedia, Machine Learning (ML), and connectivity features including custom MIPI-DSI displays, audio interfaces, and AIROC™ Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® combo-based connectivity modules.

This kit is also supported in the Zephyr® OS open-source software platform, a proven RTOS ecosystem created by developers, and for developers.

The PSOC™ Edge E84 AI Kit is designed for rapid prototyping of ML/AI-powered applications. It features the PSOC™ Edge E84 series MCU and a multitude of on-board multimedia, Machine Learning (ML), and connectivity features. It also includes an on-board programmer/debugger (KitProg3) SWD debug header, a MIPI-DSI connector, speaker interface, USB host and device interfaces, IO expansion headers, an IMU sensor, a magnetometer, a barometric pressure sensor, a radar, two analog microphones (PDM interface), and an image sensor.
