Main Title

INFRARED ILLUMINATION FOR SECURITY APPLICATIONS

body-copy-intro

Infrared illumination plays a significant role in the broad field of security – incorporated into indoor and outdoor applications, for industrial home security systems. With a long heritage in developing infrared LEDs, ams OSRAM is the technology leader, offering different products to match the various requirements of each application area. Devices supporting up to 2W of optical power, there is a solution for every system setup. The portfolio comes in a variety of package sizes with many lens options, making it suitable for all kinds of system requirements (space-critical applications, easy clustering, narrow angle for direct illumination or wide angle for nearby objects or secondary optics). The choice of 850nm enables a higher camera sensitivity while the 940nm options are ideal for covert observation by eliminating the red glow visible to the human eye. Continuously expanding and improving the IR high power portfolio, ams OSRAM is prepared to stay the market leader in infrared illumination for industrial and home security.

Thin-film Chip Technology increase Efficiency of IR LEDs

With a typical optical radiant flux of up to 1360  milliwatts from an operating current of 1 Amp, its light output is 25 percent higher than other chips currently available on the market, which means that future infrared  systems can be made even more energy efficient.

IR LEDs

The ams OSRAM IR LED portfolio comes with a variety of package sizes combined with many beam angles, making it compatible for all kinds of system requirements (space-critical applications, easy clustering, narrow angle for direct illumination or wide angle for nearby objects or secondary optics).

OSLON® P1616 Series

New products available with flatter and rectangular radiation patterns

ams OSRAM OSLON® P1616 products are the smallest high power infrared LEDs in the product portfolio of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. With a package size of only 1.6 x 1.6 mm² and a best-in-class intensity, the devices are the industry‘s smallest high power (near) infrared devices addressing different applications. The infrared high power emitter devices are specially designed for IR illumination applications, such as 2D Face Recognition, Eye Tracking or Security applications.   Due to the low height, the products are the perfect fit for all space critical applications, while still providing high optical output, efficiency, and reliability.

Wavelengths: 850 nm, 940 nm

Lens Angles: ±65°, ±35°, Flatter radiation ±60°, Rectangular ±45° x ±70°
