Photointerrupters

Photointerrupters are devices that are made up of an infrared led and a photo transistor, with a gap in between the two of them. When something is placed in the gap the light is cut and the current flow through the photo transistor is reduced or stopped. Photointerrupters are transmission-type photosensors that integrate optical receiving and transmitting elements in a single package.
