OTFL101 Evaluation Board

The Otava Ultra Linear Tunable Filters are bandpass filters with digitally selectable frequency of operation.  The filters feature 3, 4 or 5 bits of digital control at every stage with a total of 5 stages.  The wide range of control provides flexibility of frequency tuning with IBW up to 1.5 GHz.  The typical insertion loss is 7 dB with wideband rejection of 30 dB for all filters.

Otava Linear Tunable Filters provide solutions for systems that need to remove spurs or unwanted signals / intereferences and replace switched filter banks.

Evaluation Boards

Evaluation boards for the Otava Tunable Filers are designed to test the performance of the filter. Each board has 2 RF ports that are built with edge mount connectors, DC and digital I/O are accessible through a Seeeduino microcontroller. A software GUI is included to provide control of the filter settings.  Software GUI is located under the "Reference Design" tab at the bottom of this page.

Matlab Models

TThese data driven models predict amplitude and phase very accurately in response to the user defined input controls. This advanced capability enables intimate exploration of the device’s degrees of freedom.

The model is integrated into Explorer operated within MATLAB, which enable a user-friendly interface for both basic and more advanced uses of the new Otava filters. The OTFL Model Explorer APPs can be installed into the APPs Toolstrip in the MATLAB Control Window. Each APP provides different options including external file-based control of the filter model, and the generation of an output touchstone s2p file for each tuning run.
