The MC7812CD2TG is a Positive Linear Voltage Regulator, monolithic integrated circuit designed as fixed-voltage regulators for a wide variety of applications including local, on-card regulation. With adequate heat-sinking it can deliver output currents in excess of 1A. Although designed primarily as a fixed voltage regulator, this device can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltages and currents.
