TEA1721ADB1061,598 demo board is designed as an isolated 12V and 3.3V AC/DC SMPS for supplying up to 5W to a load. The switch mode converter operates in flyback mode at a maximum frequency of around 51KHz. Overcurrent and short circuit protection are built in. The power consumption is between 10mW and 20mW under no load conditions. EMI filtering and surge protection using TVS diodes is implemented in this circuit. The TEA1721 is a small and low cost module Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) controller IC for low power applications (up to 5W) and operates directly from the rectified universal mains input.
