The MPQ8636H-10 is a fullyintegrated,high-frequency, synchronous, rectified,step-down, switch-mode converter. It offers a verycompact solution to achieve either a 10A outputcurrent over a wide input supply range, withexcellent load and line regulation. The MPQ8636-10/MPQ8636H-10 operates at high efficiencyover a wide output-current–load range. The MPQ8636H-10 uses ConstantOn-Time(COT) control to provide a fast transientresponse and ease loop stabilization. An external resistor programs the operatingfrequency from 200kHz to 1MHz, and thefrequency keeps nearly constant as inputsupply varies with the feed-forwardcompensation. The default under-voltage lockout threshold isinternally set at 4.1V, but a resistor network onthe enable pin can increase this threshold. Thesoft-start pin controls the output-voltage startupramp. An open-drain power-good signalindicates that the output is within nominalvoltage range. It has fully-integrated protection features thatinclude over-current protection, over-voltageprotection and thermal shutdown. The MPQ8636H requires aminimal number of readily-available, standard,external components and is available in a3mm×4mm QFN package.
