The 48258-0001 is a 4-way 1-row right angle Type A Universal Serial Bus (USB) shielded I/O receptacle with gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts. The 48258 series receptacle is suitable for wire-to-board applications. It mates with USB Type A plug. The receptacle has reverse type, mid mount with side flange and bevelled metal pins. Industry standard USB connectors and cable assemblies provide connection for power and data exchange without the need for a host PC across a variety of industries. The Universal Serial Bus was developed in 1996 to integrate a variety of existing PC I/O ports into a single interface with hot-plugging, automatic configuration capabilities and increased bandwidth to enhance serial I/O throughput for a wide range of peripherals.
