The MT8888C is a monolithic DTMF transceiver withcall progress filter. It is fabricated in CMOS technologyoffering low power consumption and high reliability.The receiver section is based upon the industrystandard MT8870 DTMF receiver while the transmitterutilizes a switched capacitor D/A converter for lowdistortion, high accuracy DTMF signalling. Internalcounters provide a burst mode such that tone burstscan be transmitted with precise timing. A call progressfilter can be selected allowing a microprocessor toanalyze call progress tones. The MT8888C utilizes an Intel micro interface, whichallows the device to be connected to a number ofpopular microcontrollers with minimal external logic.
