The EMC2105 is an SMBus compliant fan controller withup to five (up to 4 external and 1 internal)temperaturechannels. The fan driver can be operated using twomethods each with two modes. The methods include anRPM based Fan Speed Control Algorithm and a directdrive setting. The temperature monitors offer 1°C accuracy (forexternal diodes) with sophisticated features to reduceerrors introduced by series resistance and beta variationof substrate thermal diode transistors commonly foundin processors. The EMC2105 also includes a hardware programmabletemperature limit and dedicated system shutdownoutput for thermal protection of critical circuitry.
