TDA38740 is an easy-to-use, fully integrated and highly efficient OptiMOS™ IPOL single-voltage synchronous buck regulator 40A with PMBus interface. The device uses Infineon’s FAST Constant On-time engine for superior transient response. It is easily configured using Infineon’s XDP™ Designer GUI and the configuration can be stored in the on-chip memory. It also features important protection functions, such as pre-bias start-up, thermally compensated current limit, over voltage and under voltage protection, and thermal shutdown to give required system level security in the event of fault conditions. Potential applications are telecom and datacom, base stations, FPGA power, storage, server, distributed point of load power architectures.
