The HEDS-971x is a high performance incrementalencoder module. When operated in conjunction witheither a codewheel or codestrip, this module detectsrotary or linear position. The encoder consists of a lensedLED source and a detector IC enclosed in a small C-shapedplastic package. Due to a highly collimated light sourceand a unique photodetector array, the module is extremelytolerant to mounting misalignment.The two channel analog outputs and 5 V supply input areaccessed through four solder plated leads located on 2.54mm (0.1 inch) centers.The standard HEDS-971x is designed for use with anappro priate optical radius codewheel or linear codestrip.Other options are available.
