The HCPL-814 contains a phototransistor, opticallycoupled to two light emitting diodes connected inverseparallel. It can operate directly by AC input current. It ispackaged in a 4-pin DIP package and available in wideleadspacing option and lead bend SMD option. Inputoutputisolation voltage is 5000 Vrms. Response time, tr,istypically 4 µs and minimum CTR is 20% at input currentof ±1 mA.
