The BCM56060 features an integrated 1.25 GHz ARM Cortex-A9™ processor, enterprise-scale buffer and table sizes, including Layer 3 functionality.

The BCM56060 family supports VNTAG and 802.1br to implement port-extender functionality. A port extender works in conjunction with a controlling bridge to implement a single point of control for consistent policy enforcement and management of Quality of Service (QoS).

Members of the family include 16x10GE, 24xGE + 4x10GE uplinks, and up to 20x 2.5G I/O.
