The Broadcom BCM4358 are single-chip IEEE 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO WLAN + BT4.1/FM RX devices for embedded applications. One-time programmable (OTP) nonvolatile memory is included in the WLAN section of the devices for storing board-specific information such as product ID, manufacturer ID, and MAC address. Excluding the internal header information, up to 484 bytes of useraccessible OTP memory is available on the BCM4358 for WLAN information. Although the WLAN section provides the option of using an SDIO or PCIe host interface, this application note addresses only SDIO applications.
