The AEDR-871x encoder is the smallest 3-channel opticalencoder with digital outputs that employs ReflectiveTechnology for motion control.The encoder is designed to operate over the -20 °C to 85°C temperature range and so is suitable for both commercialand industrial applications.AEDR-871x offers high resolution (318 LPI) with built-ininterpolation, enabling great flexibility and versatility inresolution range.The compact dimensions of 3.95 mm (L) × 3.4 mm (W) ×0.9562 mm (H) coupled with the low operating 3.3 V optionallows it to be used in a wide range of miniature commercialapplications and portable devices in which spaceand power consumption is a primary concern.AEDR-871x encoder offers two-channel (AB) quadraturedigital outputs and a third channel, index digital outputs.Being TTL compatible, the outputs of the AEDR-871x encodercan be interfaced directly with most of the signalprocessing circuitries. Therefore, the encoder providesgreat design-in flexibility and easy integration into existingsystems.
