The SMAJ series surface-mount Transient Voltage Suppression Diode designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It is ideal for the protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus and other vulnerable circuits. It is used for surface mounted applications in order to optimize board space.

• Peak forward surge current of 40A (8.3ms single half sine wave super imposed on rated load
• Peak power dissipation of 400W at TA = 25°C, TP = 1ms
• Steady state power dissipation of 1W
• Operating junction temperature range from -55°C to +150°C
• Flammability rating meets UL94 V-0
• Working peak reverse voltage of 60V and maximum reverse leakage current of 1µA at Vrwm
• Breakdown voltage of 66.7V (minimum), 73.7V (maximum) and test current of 1mA
• Maximum clamping voltage of 96.8V at Ippm and maximum peak pulse surge current of 4.1A
• Maximum instantaneous forward voltage of 3.5V at 25A
