The MVME8100 is a high performance 6U VME/VXS board targeted towards high-end military and industrial automation applications still using VMEbus. It is designed to be mainly compatible with MVME7100, MVME6100 and MVME4100 but with some additional features provided by the modern silicon base. VME64x/VXS is still the leading technology used in MAG space even with introduction of OpenVPX. Both technologies will be viable MAG solutions. The MVME8100 will provide technology insertion to prolong current programs while providing more computing performance and data throughput. The main target applications include C4ISR, Radar/Sonar and high end industrial control such as SPE and photo lithography.
