Avnet Talent Community Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice sets out how Avnet processes the personal data of applicants and prospective candidates who voluntarily register to be considered for future employment opportunities through our Talent Community. The first part of this notice describes the processing activities and privacy information that apply globally. The second part contains additional country- or region-specific disclosures where required under applicable data protection laws.

2. Which Talent Community Pool Applies to You

Your personal data will be included in the regional talent pool corresponding to your location.

3. Categories of Personal Data

We may process the following categories of personal data:

Identification and contact information (e.g., name, email address, country)

  • Professional information (e.g., CV, skills, experience, education)
  • Career interests, job preferences, availability
  • Records of interactions with recruiters
  • System generated data related to your Talent Community profile

4. Purposes of Processing

Your personal data is processed to create, manage, and maintain your Talent Community profile, and to assess and match your skills, experience, and preferences against current and potential future job opportunities across relevant entities. It is also used to communicate with you about suitable roles, recruitment initiatives, and related updates, as well as to support internal recruitment planning, workforce analytics, and talent engagement activities. In addition, your data may be processed to fulfil applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance obligations.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

The processing of your personal data is based on your consent, where this is required under applicable law, including for certain types of communications or in specific jurisdictions, and/or on the legitimate interests pursued by the Avnet companies in identifying, evaluating, and engaging potential candidates for employment opportunities. These legitimate interests are carefully balanced against your rights and freedoms. You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of any processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.

6. Data Sharing and Access

Your personal data may be accessed by recruitment, HR, and hiring teams within relevant regional or functional Talent Community Candidate Pools for candidate evaluation and selection. It may also be shared with authorized personnel across affiliated entities where this is relevant to identifying suitable opportunities. In addition, your data may be processed by third-party service providers, such as recruitment platform providers (e.g., Workday), who act as data processors under contractual obligations. Access to personal data is strictly limited to individuals who have a legitimate business need and is subject to appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards.

7. Data Retention

Your Talent Community profile will be retained for a period of 24 months following your registration or until you choose to delete your profile, withdraw your consent, or request erasure for EMEA and APAC Talent Pool, while 36 months for the AMER Talent Pool.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access your personal data and obtain a copy of it, request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, or request the deletion of your data under certain conditions. You may also have the right to object to or request the restriction of processing, including in relation to direct marketing, to withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent, and to request the portability of your data in a structured, commonly used format. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority. Requests to exercise your rights can be submitted via the designated contacts below or through the Talent Community Profile.

Avnet’s Data Protection Team will use its best efforts to handle any requests or complaints brought to its attention. The data subject has the right to approach the competent data protection authority with requests or complaints. Note for EMEA residents:

1. International Data Transfers

Recipients of personal data may be located in countries outside of the European Union/ United Kingdom / European Economic Area (“third countries”). The laws in third countries may not offer the same level of data protection as the laws of your home country. In such cases, Avnet is committed to take measures to ensure that recipients in third countries provide an adequate level of protection.

For the purposes of the Talent Community and regional talent pools, Avnet companies responsible for recruitment in the EMEA region act as joint controllers under Article 26 GDPR.

2. Arrangement between Joint Controllers

A summary of the essence of this arrangement is described below, and more details can be available upon request:

i. Avnet Inc., as the parent company, provides and operates the central Workday platform that supports our Talent community. Avnet Inc. is responsible for maintaining the technical infrastructure, including security, availability, and system updates.
ii.

Joint Decisions on Recruitment Data (Joint Controllership): Avnet companies in EMEA, as defined above, jointly determine how the talent community operates. This includes deciding:

a. which categories of personal data are used (such as your CV, professional experience, and skills), and
b. how long this information is retained, to support recruitment activities and help match candidates with suitable opportunities.
iii. Controlled Visibility and Access: Access to candidate profiles within the talent community is governed by shared internal rules. Your profile remains visible only to recruiters in the relevant local or regional hiring organization.
iv. Because Avnet companies jointly manage recruitment data, the Joint Controllers have agreed upon how you may exercise your data protection rights (such as access, correction, or deletion), based on the specific channels described in this notice.
