Renesas introduces the RX140 MCUs which support the lowest power consumption while providing higher performance among the general purpose RX100 series. The main change to enhance performance is the switch from the RXv1 to the RXv2 core, which raise the clock rate from 32MHz to 48MHz. The RX140 achieved CoreMark score of 204, which is a dramatic performance improvement over the RX130 CoreMark score of 108. RX140 operates with 1.8mA current consumption at 32MHz operation, a reduction of more than 30% from the RX130's current consumption of 3.1mA.
