Power TVS Products (PTVS)
Ultimate Overvoltage Protection for High-Voltage, High-Current Systems
Power Transient Voltage Suppressors (PTVS) are high-capacity overvoltage protection devices engineered for high-power-density and high-voltage environments. As AI data centers, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and renewable energy systems transition toward 48 V, $\pm 400\text{ V}$, and 800 VDC High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) architectures, systems become increasingly vulnerable to destructive inductive kickback and surge transients. Combining nanosecond-level response speeds with kA-level peak pulse current absorption, PTVS devices precisely clamp transient overvoltage within safe operating thresholds, ensuring continuous, reliable operation for downstream hot-swap controllers, power semiconductors, and sensitive loads.
Power Transient Voltage Suppressors (PTVS) are primarily deployed to eliminate transient overvoltage threats in high-voltage, high-current power distribution architectures. In modern high-density power designs, events such as hot-plugging, fault disconnects, or sudden load shedding induce severe voltage spikes due to line parasitic inductance. Concurrently, upstream grid fluctuations and external surges propagate down the distribution bus. Without effective clamping, these transient voltage spikes can instantly destroy sensitive downstream components.
