ROHM RLD8BQAB3 – 905nm 125W × 8ch (1kW Class) Laser Diode for LiDAR

ROHM Short-Wavelength Infrared (SWIR) Devices

The RLD8BQAB3 is a compact 8-channel array laser diode delivering 125W per channel (1kW class total). It enables precise, long-range LiDAR detection with stable wavelength characteristics and minimal temperature sensitivity.

ROHM has developed the RLD8BQAB3, a high-power 905nm pulsed laser diode featuring an 8-channel array design that delivers 125W per channel, achieving a total optical output in the 1kW class. This compact emitter supports ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) equipped with LiDAR for distance measurement and spatial recognition, while also targeting consumer and industrial applications such as drones, robot vacuum cleaners, AGVs, and service robots.

Leveraging ROHM’s patented narrow emission width technology, the RLD8BQAB3 ensures superior high-resolution detection over long distances, with minimal wavelength temperature dependence for stable LiDAR performance. Building on the successful commercialization of the 25W RLD90QZW5 in 2019 and the 120W RLD90QZW8 in 2023, ROHM now expands its laser diode lineup with this next-generation 1kW-class device that combines compact size, high output, and wide application potential.
