Edge Rate® rugged, high-speed connector strips

Rugged high-speed connector strips featuring contacts optimized for SI performance, increased durability and cycle life.        

Samtec's ERM8 and ERF8 series are high-speed 0.80 mm pitch strips that features Samtec’s Edge Rate® contact system and are designed for high speeds up to 56 Gbps PAM4, as well as high-cycle applications. The smooth broad-milled contact surface increases wear life, while the minimized parallel surface area reduces broadside coupling and crosstalk. This also lowers insertion and withdrawal forces, allowing the connectors to be zippered when unmating. An extended 1.5 mm contact wipe ensures a reliable connection. These series feature incredible design flexibility including up to 200 total positions, 7 mm thru 18 mm stack heights, differential pairs, hot swap option, and a choice of orientation – vertical, right-angle, or edge mount. Optional rugged features are available, such as metal latching for increased retention force and extended guide posts with or without shielding. Many high-speed protocols are supported, such as Ethernet and PCI Express®. They have also passed Samtec's SET (Severe Environment Testing), which is a Samtec initiative to test certain products beyond typical industry standards and specifications, many of which are common requirements for harsh environment applications/industries.
