Abracon's RTC with Embedded Crystal is a complete, compact timing solution designed to simplify circuit design and reduce component count. By integrating the crystal within the real-time clock (RTC), this module ensures precise, stable timing performance across a wide range of applications, including wearables, IoT devices, and consumer electronics. The embedded crystal minimizes board space, enhances reliability, and reduces susceptibility to environmental variations, such as temperature and vibration. Available with low power consumption, it is well-suited for battery-operated devices where long-term accuracy is essential. This integrated solution enables efficient, streamlined designs for devices requiring precise timekeeping.
Abracon’s ultra-low power Real-Time Clock (RTC) module with embedded 32.768 kHz crystal oscillator, AB-RTC-XL uses I2C communication interface to configure numerous features while sustaining frequency accuracy (±20ppm @ 25°C) in a compact lead-free ceramic SMD 3.2 x 1.5 mm package.
These features include a digital offset function, alarm and timer function capability, oscillator stop detection and internal power-on reset function. The RTC has a broad operating power supply range of 0.9V to 5.5V with low power consumption (190nA @ 3V).
Abracon’s Low Power 2012 Real Time Clock (RTC) series is engineered for designs where battery life, board space, and reliability are critical. These ultra small RTC modules integrate the 32.768 kHz crystal and CMOS oscillator circuit into a single 2.0 × 1.2 mm SMD package, reducing external components, simplifying layout, and improving long term stability across operating conditions.
It is ideally suited for battery-powered IoT devices, wearable and portable electronics, energy-harvesting systems, telematics & Infotainment & smart home devices. Automotive qualification according to AEC-Q200 is also available for high reliability applications such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. With a standard I²C interface, the Low Power 2012 RTC series integrates easily into modern embedded designs without adding complexity.
