UWB Modules Type 2AB

Murata Type2AB module is designed as small, high quality and lower power consumption UWB module.
Ideally suited for small, battery operated IoT devices and applications.
Murata has developed a compact UWB communication module, “Type 2AB,” equipped with an accelerometer and Bluetooth® Low Energy. This module incorporates Qorvo, Inc.'s UWB IC and Nordic Semiconductor's Bluetooth Low Energy SoC (System on Chip: integrates all the functions required for a device or system into a single semiconductor chip).
To realize smart cities and smart factories, it is necessary to detect the location information of people and objects, so wireless communication technologies such as Wi-Fi™, Bluetooth, and GPS have been used. However, in recent years, UWB communication, which can detect location information with higher precision, has been gaining increasing attention.UWB communication utilizes an extremely wide frequency band, making it less susceptible to obstacles and enabling high-precision location detection at the centimeter level—a capability that traditional wireless communication technologies struggle to achieve. Additionally, its strong interference resistance allows for stable communication, making it suitable for applications such as contactless payment systems.
This product is based on the high-frequency design technology, special high-density mounting technology, and resin encapsulation technology accumulated in the development of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module products at our company. It combines the UWB IC from Qorvo, which has a proven track record in the UWB communication market, and the Bluetooth Low Energy SoC from Nordic, which has a proven track record in the Bluetooth market, to develop a compact UWB communication module.
