Silicon Photodiode is a PN-junction diode that can convert light into either current or voltage based on the mode of operation of the device. Photodiodes are specially designed to operate in reverse bias condition. Photodiode is very sensitive to light so when light or photons falls on the photodiode electric current is generated.
