A rotary switch is a switch in which the contacts are changed when the spindle is rotated in either a clockwise or an anticlockwise direction. The rotary switches come in different pin arrangements like 1 pole 12 way, 2 pole 6 way, 3 pole 4 way, 4 pole 3 way and others.
