Avnet PYNQ Column
Foreword:
As a global technology solution provider with a diverse ecosystem, Avnet is committed to providing customers with a full range of support and services at every stage of the product life cycle. By partnering with Xilinx and other global strategic partners, Avnet provides advanced solutions and products to many emerging application markets, such as industrial automation, machine vision, artificial intelligence, ADAS, etc. With the successful launch and acceptance of Xilinx ZYNQ SoCs (Harden ARM core), software-based design methodology is also widely used in edge computing and many other fields. We are very pleased to be able to share the concept of productive development and accelerated computing based on Xilinx FPGAs with the engineers in the Python community. We are also excited to demonstrate many cases of Python's implementation of computer vision and artificial intelligence based on FPGA platform, namely Avnet Ultra96 development board. We sincerely hope that Python developers may find it useful to participate in this column and contribute in the extensive exchange amongst peers. We will also host some technical training activities, as well as board trial and promotion offer regularly. We hope to take this opportunity to discuss with you the extra value that Xilinx PYNQ framework brings to Python developers, to jointly create an efficient PYNQ development and accelerated computing ecosystem, and drive python language adoption in embedded computing.

Ultra 96
The Ultra96-V2 updates and refreshes the Ultra96 product that was released in 2018. Like Ultra96, the Ultra96-V2 is an Arm-based, Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+™ MPSoC development board based on the Linaro 96Boards Consumer Edition (CE) specification. Ultra96-V2 is available in more countries around the world as it has been designed with a certified radio module from Microchip. Additionally, Ultra96-V2 is available in both commercial and industrial temperature grade options. Additional power control and monitoring is possible with the included Infineon Pmics. Like Ultra96, the Ultra96-V2 boots from the provided Delkin 16 GB microSD card. Engineers have options of connecting to Ultra96-V2 through a Webserver using integrated wireless access point capability or to use the provided Linux Matchbox windows environment which can be viewed on the integrated Mini DisplayPort video output. Multiple application examples and on-board development options are provided as examples.
