IoT Solutions from Digi

Always Connected

Digi International, Inc. (Digi) was formed in 1985—long before anyone coined the term the Internet of Things. Digi has always focused on connecting things, starting with intelligent multiport serial boards for PCs. As wireless data technologies evolved, Digi invented right along with it, expanding the product lines with RF modules, gateways, and cellular routers to build critical communications infrastructures, plus embedded wireless system on module (SoM) and single-board computer (SBC) offerings for makers of next generation connected products.

Putting Machines to Work

Today, Digi goes to work where the machines work. Vast oil fields. Intensive care units. Crowded freeways. Factory floors. Often, in very demanding environments. Digi products connect the millions of sensors, valves, and components that make these critical infrastructures function. Digi provides the essential layer of machine-to-machine (M2M) communications — the remote monitoring and management that critical applications depend on.

Built for the Real World

There’s a lot of buzz these days about M2M and the Internet of Things. At Digi, it’s all about the Internet of Getting Things Done. Customers have mission-critical goals to achieve. Budgets to meet. Deadlines to hit. This is machine connectivity with an ROI. Digi puts proven technology to work for customers so they can light up networks and launch new products. Machine connectivity that’s relentlessly reliable, secure, scalable, managed—and always comes through when you need it most. That’s Digi.

XBee-PRO® 900HP DigiMesh® Kit

Digi DigiMesh IoT Starter Kit

Digi’s XBee-PRO 900HP DigiMesh Kit is a great way to learn how to use XBee RF modules for device connectivity and true peer-to-peer mesh device networking with our DigiMesh protocol. DigiMesh is a proprietary networking topology that supports advanced networking features including sleeping routers and dense mesh networks.

Mesh networking is a powerful way to route data. Range is extended by allowing data to hop from node to node, and reliability is increased by “self-healing,” the ability to create alternate paths when one node fails or a connection is lost. DigiMesh is a peer-to-peer mesh network which allows all devices on the network to sleep, ideal for low-power applications.
This kit is designed for anyone interested in getting started in the world of XBee. Hardware and software engineers, corporate technologists, or educators and students can quickly learn more about DigiMesh technology through hands-on examples in the kit, utilizing XBee-PRO DigiMesh modules.

XBee-PRO 900HP Modules Included in the Kit

XBee-PRO 900HP RF modules provide embedded wireless connectivity to low-power devices that require best-in-class range in the 900 MHz band. They take advantage of the DigiMesh networking protocol, featuring dense network operation and support for sleeping routers, and are also available in a proprietary point-to-multipoint configuration. The modules support RF line-of-sight ranges up to 9 miles (with high-gain antennas), and data rates of up to 200 Kbps.

The XBee-PRO 900HP requires no programming and can be configured easily using Digi’s free XCTU software or via the simplified AT command set. XBee modules are pre-certified for use in multiple countries, further reducing development costs and time to market.
