Our OSLON® family includes the important wavelengths in three radiation angles 80°, 120° and 150° to provide the perfect lighting for all types of plants and flowers, allowing them to adapt the light exactly to the needs of various crops.

OSLON Square Colors

High power IR illumination devices at 850nm:

This is the most common choice for IR illumination because the sensitivity of cameras and sensors at 850nm is very high while remaining mostly invisible for humans. There are many IR illumination options available from OSRAM in 850nm to match with the many optic elements and cameras optimized for operation at this wavelength. Different Field of Views for different distance considerations and different maximum ratings to adjust for different budgets. Available in half angle ±25°, ±40°, ±60° and ±75°.

High power IR illumination devices at 940nm:

For operation in designs where the IR light source should not be easily detected (total darkness). Although IR light is invisible to humans, when looking into the highest intensity area of the LED itself, 850nm can still sometimes be seen whereas 940nm is much harder to see. Available in half angle ±45°, ±60° and ±75°.

Mid power IR radial mounted (through hole) devices

For applications in which a PCB may not be not be possible and the LED can/must be wired remotely from the rest of the circuit. Also used when very high directionality of the beam (without using secondary optics) is an advantage for long range applications. Smoke detectors

Optical switches and interrupters, touchless sensors

Used when switching devices on and off—like lamps—or activating valves without physically touching buttons—like water taps. These actions can be done by using your hand to reflect IR light from a small IR LED back toward an IR sensitive phototransistor. Optical switches are often found in appliances that use water (to prevent shock hazards) or designs that require a hidden switch for aesthetics. OSRAM's optical switches can be placed invisibly behind a dark-colored glass or hard plastic for discrete designs.
