The industrial automation, the production and manufacturing industry, is in a digital transformation process. Operation Technology and Information Technology are merging and Industry 4.0 enables new business cases. With this Smart Industry Day, we present you insights on use cases and new technologies like Single Pair Ethernet (SPE), Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), as well as solutions for Smart Edge with wired and wireless communication, condition monitoring and smart motors.

Single Pair Ethernet – The perfect Infrastructure for IoT / IIoT

In this presentation, Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) is presented as a holistic ecosystem. The goal is to show which individual components are necessary to integrate the SPE technology into devices and cabling. We will explain standards landscape for SPE. Different networking concepts will be shown, also considering the power supply of the network devices. This presentation is targeted for all those who want to get a complete overview of the SPE ecosystem. An interesting topic for designers, system integrators, planners and technicians from all areas of industry.
 

An overview of 10BASE-T1S single pair Ethernet and Applications

With this presentation, we will introduce you to 10BASE-T1S a short range networking system and its benefits for scalability and system cost. We will also show you application examples.
 

Time Sensitive Networking – a pragmatic approach

This presentation provides an overview about the reasons for the adoption of TSN, selected TSN standards and how they can be used to achieve deterministic, low-latency Ethernet communication. We’ll explain the relevant interfaces within GNU/Linux and the necessary conceptual steps to setup TSN communication and implement talkers and listeners. The presentation concludes with an overview about practical implementation challenges we faced during evaluation of TSN solutions an insight into Avnet Silica's strategy to evaluate, benchmark and demonstrate current TSN implementations.
 

TSN and its Value with Xilinx Adaptable Intelligence in Industrial Solutions
