Avnet Integrated Offers Powerful COM Express Modules Based on newest 9th Generation Intel Core Processors
Stutensee, Germany – 4th July 2019 – The MSC C6B-CFLR COM Express™ Type 6 module family, now available from Avnet Integrated, is well-positioned at the top end of the performance range. These powerful modules are based on the newest 9th generation Intel® Core™ processor, and today’s launch coincides with Intel’s 9th generation announcement, giving developers early accessibility to design with the latest Intel® processor technology.
The MSC C6B-CFLR high-end module family features a wide range of scalability options, from two cores with single thread to six cores with twelve threads. For applications requiring maximum utilization of computing power, extremely powerful CPU variants are available with a thermal design power (TDP) of 45 W/35 W. The dual-core module, with a TDP of 25 W for the CPUs, is suitable for applications that need only moderate cooling, for example low-noise cooling in medical devices. For other applications requiring higher reliability, some modules can be specified with error checking and correction (ECC) options.
With the MSC C6B-CFLR module family, Avnet Integrated is expanding its portfolio of high-performance COM Express™ boards and confirming its leading position as a knowledgeable provider of embedded modules that offers an extremely broad choice of products. The MSC C6B-CFLR modules complement the powerful MSC C6B-CFLH COM Express™ Type 6 family, which integrates 8th generation Intel® Core™ processors. All of Avnet Integrated’s Computer-On-Modules (COMs) various form factors are developed and manufactured in-house by Avnet.
Typical applications for the high-performance MSC C6B-CFLR modules include: machine vision/machine learning solutions, industrial applications, surveillance technology (network video recorder or NVR), medical technology and scientific instruments. These high-end boards will be available for 15 years after product introduction.
The MSC C6B-CFLR COM Express™ Type 6 module family integrates the 9th generation Intel® Core™ processor technology in a basic form factor of 125 x 95mm and enables the rapid development of innovative applications that demand high computing and graphics performance. The family includes ten module variations and the flagship integrates the E-2276ME Intel® Core™ with six cores, 2.8/4.5 GHz and 12MB cache.
The integrated powerful Intel® UHD Graphics generation 9 controller supports the simultaneous operation of up to three independent 4K displays. The computer-on-modules offer innovative video encoding and decoding functions and support DirectX® 11/12, OpenGL 4.3/4.4, OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenCL 2.x.
The graphics interface includes three DisplayPort/HDMI/DVI ports and an Embedded DisplayPort/LVDS interface. Additionally, the modules also offer common industrial interfaces, e.g. eight PCI Express™ x1 lanes, a configurable PEG x16 interface, 4 x SATA, four USB 3.1/2.0 and USB 2.0 ports each.
To protect against unauthorized access, the compact embedded modules are equipped with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) compliant to the requirements of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG). The boards have up to 32GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM memory with ECC optionally.
