With the arrival of the new multi-core Intel Atom x6000E Series processors, Avnet Integrated is expanding its standard module families based on the Intel Atom, Intel Pentium, Celeron N and J series processors. Avnet Integrated has incorporated the new Intel Atom® x6000E series processors into all four established embedded standards COM Express™ Type 6 and Type 10, SMARC 2.1™ and Qseven 2.1™. With the availability of ready-to-use embedded modules and suitable design tools, the new processor technology is available at an early stage for the development of innovative applications.
Built on 10nm process technology and formerly codenamed “Elkhart Lake”, the new Intel Atom x6000E series processors feature significant gains in computing and graphics performance compared to previous generation models with the same number of CPU cores and power dissipation.
Avnet Integrated’s Intel Atom x6000E series processor based embedded module families are designed for applications which need a cost-optimized decentral computer performance and a high connectivity. For demanding network systems, the boards offer special Real-Time functions and the support of TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking). The modules integrate high-speed USB 3.1 and PCIe Gen 3 interfaces and fast LPDDR4 memory

Avnet Integrated presents the high-performance MSC C6C-TLU COM Express™ Type 6 module family based on the 11th Generation Intel Core processors (formerly codenamed “Tiger Lake UP3”). Compared to previous models, which integrate a 8th Generation Intel Core processor, the high-end modules feature significant gains in computing and graphics performance. Due to the new processor architecture and advanced 10 nm process technology the modules provide a good balance between performance and power consumption.
The MSC C6C-TLU COM Express™ module family is prepared for use in deterministic Ethernet networks. Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and Intel Time Coordinated Computing (Intel TCC) are supported to meet stringent timing and low latency requirements under hard real-time conditions. Combined with SDKs like the Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO ™ toolkit, Intel® Media SDK, or the Intel® Time Coordinated Computing (Intel® TCC) software toolkit, the MSC C6C-TLU COM Express™ Type 6 module family is ideal for high-end applications such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Industrial IoT (IIoT) based systems, high-performance medical devices, professional audio/video equipment, innovative control systems and intelligent camera solutions.
Designed for the Extreme
The new COM Express™ Type 6 and Type 10, SMARC 2.1™ and Qseven 2.1™ product families are designed for the extended temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and reliable 24/7 continuous operation. Remarkably also the new COM Express™ Type 6 based on Intel Core processors performance class can be offered with industrial temperature grading specification. The rugged boards are ideally suited for harsh industrial environments or outdoor systems. Optionally, Avnet Integrated can provide the embedded modules with conformal coating to reliably protect against environmental stress such as contaminants and moisture. Typical applications are AI and industrial IoT based systems, innovative HMI systems and control units, intelligent camera systems, modern medical equipment, and smart grid solutions.
