The Prime (PoweRline Intelligent Metering Evolution) known as the standard, enables fast data communication directly over the power lines
Where a special modulation technique at Prime allows transfer rates of up to 500 Kbps, while the modulation method used in classic power line communication called S-FSK (Spread Frequency Shift Keying, see IEC 61334) only transfers data at up to 9.8 Kbps. EBV offers solutions from Atmel, NXP and STMicroelectronics.
G3 standard works at frequencies in the range of up to 500 kHz in the area of power line communication
Similar to Prime, the G3 standard works at frequencies in the range of up to 500 kHz in the area of power line communication. In terms of modulation, the G3 standard, which has been significantly shaped by a subsidiary of the French State group EDF, uses the OFDM method. The modulation method used in classic power line communication called S-FSK (Spread Frequency Shift Keying, see IEC 61334) only transfers data at up to a maximum of 9.8 Kbps.. EBV Elektronik supplies its customers with semiconductor solutions from Atmel, NXP and STMicroelectronics who make products that fit the development of a power line modem, which corresponds to the G3 standard.
Similar to the Prime and G3 standards, the IEEE P1901.2 standard also offers the possibility of data transfer rates of up to 500 Kbps in terms of power line communication. For this standard, EBV Elektronik also has suitable semiconductors in the range.
HomePlug Green PHY balances high reliability and low cost
GreenPHY is the result of the desire of utility companies that looked for a lower cost, lower resource version of the widely accepted HomePlug AV specification. The power line networking standard was specifically developed to drive emerging smart home, home automation and control and electric vehicle communication applications. The Green PHY specification further improves distance coverage and power consumption and compared to older PLC technologies it is also more impervious to noise on the power line and has no difficulties with phase coupling. As this communication standard is also interoperable with HomePlug AV and AV2 and supports both IPv4 and IPv6, it enables a merging of home automation and home control with high speed digital entertainment home networks. EBV is able to support designs using this standard with the perfect semiconductors and electronic components as well as in depth expert knowledge.
