Janus is a single embedded low cost RF Module developed specially for home automation, building automation, smart lighting and IoT applications in general, using a complete 6LoWPAN protocol stack offering IETF IPv6 compliancy, Star & Mesh topologies, network auto-configuration (by neighbour discovery), unicast as well as multicast links and self-reparation.

The module’s high quality, small form factor of 15 mm x 14 mm makes it ideal for SMD assembly.

It’s low power consumption is achieved with STM’s low power microcontroller STM32F0 and SPIRIT1, the low power Sub-GHz data rate transceiver. Also on board is an ultra-miniature balun matching SPIRIT1 and supporting a connection to an external antenna, therefore saving space and cost. As users can integrate their region-specific application layer there is no need for an external host controller. The module is pre-certified and conforms to CE and R&TTE regulations.

Key features:

  • Core: 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M0 , up to 48MHz
  • 256KB Flash, 32KB SRAM
  • 868 MHz Band
  • Connection for external antenna
  • Small footprint
  • Communication and configuration via UART/SPI
  • 6LoWPAN Protocol Stack
  • IETF IPv6 compliant (RFC 4919, 4944, 6282)
  • Star & Mesh Topologies
  • IEEE 802.15.4 MAC compliant
  • Contiki OS
  • Optimized Power consumption
