To accommodate EVs on a larger scale, drivers must be able to charge their EVs quickly. That’s why DC charging stations are a very attractive choice as they are charging much faster (16 min for a range of 400+ km) and enabling long-distance travelling than the standard AC EV charging solution which most users might have at home (2 h for a range of 150 km).

These DC EV chargers are increasingly powerful and complex systems. On the one hand side the charging stations must be small and light and on the other hand side the inverter has to provide highest performance. That’s why energy-efficiency is the key to compact DC EV charger designs.
