Toshiba introduces a new architecture for stepping motor driver that lowers noise and vibration during motor operation. The TB67S209FTG supports high-speed, high-performance motor control in office automation, banking terminals and home appliance applications.Efficient operation with accurate current control is key to reducing noise and vibration in stepper motor applications. Toshiba’s adoption of Mixed Decay Mode - a current adjustment function, enables the control of the current and current change to the stepping motor by selecting the most appropriate MDM setting for the target motor.

  • Capable of controlling one two-phase bipolar stepping motor.
  • Full, half(a)(b), 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32 step operation.
  • High voltage and current, maximum ratings 50V/4.0A
  • CLOCK-in decoder is built in

 

Additional features

  • Capable of controlling one two-phase bipolar stepping motor.
  • PWM controlled constant-current drive.
  • Allows full, half(a)(b), quarter, 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32 step operation.
  • Low on-resistance (High + Low side=0.49 Ω(typ.)) MOSFET output stage.
  • Selectable Mixed Decay mode
  • High voltage and current, maximum ratings 50V/4.0A
  • CLOCK-in decoder is built in
  • Built-in error detection circuits with signal output:
    • Thermal shutdown (TSD)
    • over-current shutdown (ISD)
    • under voltage lock out (UVLO))
  • Chopping frequency of a motor can be customized by external resistance and capacitor.
  • WQFN48 package, only 7 mm x 7 mm with 0.50 mm pitch
