STMicroelectronics S2-LP low power sub-1GHz transceiver

The S2-LP is a ultra-low power, high performance, sub-1GHz transceiver for RF wireless applications.


The S2-LP is a high performance ultra-low power RF transceiver, intended for RF wireless applications in the sub-1 GHz band.It is designed to operate in both the license-free ISM and SRD frequency bands at 433, 868 and 920 MHz, but can also be programmed to operate at other additional frequencies in the 430-470 MHz, 860-940 MHz bands. It supports different modulation schemes: 2(G)FSK, 4(G)FSK, OOK and ASK. The air data rate is programmable from 0.3 to 500 kbps and can be used in systems with channel spacing of 12.5/25 kHz enabling the narrow band operations.

Evaluation Board 

The STEVAL-FKI868V1 evaluation board is based on the S2-LP sub-1 GHz ultra-low power low data-rate transceiver, suitable for ISM bands and Wireless M-Bus.

The main board is the NUCLEO-L152RE development board, equipped with a low power microcontroller STM32L to control the S2-LP and the ST-LINK/V2-1 debugger and programmer for firmware updating.
