Bourns is pleased to announce the introduction of its new sulfur-resistant, AEC-Q200 compliant series of thick film chip resistors. This new surface mount series helps strengthen the already broad range of surface mount chip resistors offered by Bourns.
The new series, CRMxxxxA and CRSxxxxA, are high power, sulfur-resistant, AEC-Q200 compliant chip resistors available in six different footprints from small, 0603 (1608 Metric) up to 2512 (6431 Metric). The Model CRMxxxxA has a wide resistance range from 0.05 ohms and a high power rating, making it ideal for current sensing. The Model CRSxxxxA has superior pulse load capability.
These new series are suitable for use in applications such as automotive (driver assistant, information, entertainment and lighting applications), industrial, automation, power supplies and communication base stations. They are designed to operate in harsh environments exposed to higher levels of sulfur contamination.
These resistors are made using a thick film element which is printed onto a ceramic substrate and tested in accordance with ASTM B809-9 method. They have a wide resistance range.
This new family complements the other circuit conditioning components offered by Bourns such as power inductors, rectifier diodes and Zener diodes.

** Bourns considers a product to be “halogen free” if (a) the Bromine (Br) content is 900 ppm or less;
