Bourns is pleased to announce the release of the Model 2011 Series Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) Surge Arrestor with FLAT® technology. Bourns sets a new industry standard by offering a 2-electrode in an innovative flat-package design. Bourns’ FLAT® technology delivers a low profile GDT solution for high density and height-restricted PCB applications.
The 2011 Series is a fast acting GDT designed for use with a Bourns® TBU® High-Speed Protector (HSP). The series is designed to limit high rate of rise voltage transients to levels below the TBU® device’s maximum voltage impulse rating (Vimp). The new 2011 GDT along with the TBU® HSP is an ideal protection solution for RS-485 applications. It should be noted the 2011 series is suitable for use in any applications requiring small size, robust current handling and superior voltage limiting.
The Model 2011 Series is designed as a surface mount device and offers a large flat surface making it suitable for high-speed pick and place using a vacuum head pickup.
