Proximity & Ambient Light Sensors

Proximity sensors are sensors able to detect the nearness of adjacent particles with no physical contact. Proximity sensors often discharge an electromagnetic field or a light emission radiation (infrared, for example), and search for changes in the field or return signal. The object being detected is often referred to as the proximity sensor's target. Ambient light sensors are devices that detects the sum of light in the region. Ambient light sensors might be incorporated with a smart phone or tablet to alter the screen brightness in view of the accessible light.
